Great Beginner to Advanced Book

I worked in a body shop for 5 years as a general helper. When I graduated college with an engineering degree I decided to get back into autobody repair as a hobby. This book was a perfect reference. It covers everything from pre-washing to paint to frame repair to estimating.

Don't expect to be an expert after reading this book. It is designed to get you on the right track.

The book does not cover specifics on painting since each manufacturer has their own technique. For this information you will need to contact PPG, Dupont, Sikkens...

Collision Repair Technology by James Duffy is toned down and easier to read version of this book that would be great for a classroom.

In 1968, rock promoter Bill Graham launched the Fillmore East in New York City and the Fillmore West in San Francisco, changing music forever. For three years, every major rock band played the Fillmores, performing legendary shows: Jimi Hendrix, the Grateful Dead, Santana, Jefferson Airplane, Led Zeppelin, Cream, the Allman Brothers, and many more. Joplin opened the Fillmore East and delivered some of her greatest performances there and at its San Francisco twin. Carlos Santana grew up as a performer at the Fillmore West after being discovered by Graham on audition night. Always unpredicatable, Grace Slick’s electrifying Jefferson Airplane was the de facto resident band at both Fillmores. Chronicling the East and West Coast cultures of the late ’60s and early '70s—New York City with its speed, heroin, and the Velvet Underground versus San Francisco with the LSD-drenched Summer of Love—Glatt reveals how Graham the made it all possible . . . that is, until August 1969 when Woodstock changed everything and musicians suddenly realized their power.     But why did Bill Graham shutter both Fillmores within weeks of each other in 1971, during the height of their popularity? About the Author
A native of London, England, John Glatt left school at sixteen and worked in a variety of jobs – including tea boy and messenger – before joining a small weekly newspaper outside London, where he honed his keen news sense. Over the next few years he freelanced for many national English newspapers, including The Daily Express, The Sunday People, The Daily Mail and Woman Magazine. In 1981 he moved to New York, working on staff for News Limited, as well as freelancing for Newsweek, Omni, the New York Post, the Australian, Modern Business and other newspapers and magazines worldwide. His first book, Rage & Roll: Bill Graham and the Selling of Rock, was published in 1993 to critical acclaim. Two years later he wrote Lost in Hollywood: The Fast Times and Short Life of River Phoenix, a well received biography of the tragic movie star. His next book, The Chieftains: An Authorized Biography, which was published in 1997, saw him nominated for a 2000 Grammy in the spoken word category. In 1998 he wrote the well-received The Ruling House of Monaco: The Story of a Tragic Dynasty, uncovering many new revelations about the Grimaldis. In 1998 he wrote his first true crime book, For I Have Sinned: True Stories of Clergy Who Kill. A year later he followed it up with Evil Twins, an anthology of twins that kill. And since then he has written a true crime book a year, establishing him as a master of the genre. Over the years, Glatt has appeared on scores of television and radio programs all over the world, including Dateline NBC, Fox News, Current Affair, BBC World, and A&E Biography. Like the beautiful feeling of leaving a mind-altering concert at dawn; and there's rich Bill, and poor, poor pitiful Bill

I was at the Fillmore East quite a lot during its hayday, and saw many of the bands at other venues as well, mostly in NY. I was lucky enough to be at some of the specific shows Glatt talked about in a way that brought me back...to those moments of music history. Glatt certainly captures the vibe, and the stories about Grace, Jerry, Phil, Jorma, Jack, Jai Johnny, Butch, Gregg, Duane, Janis and Carlos, even Jimi - you know all the last names if you're interested in real rock and roll and psychedelic music and an era - were insightful and ring pretty true, though are so good you wonder if he's making some of it up. And it isn't just about the front-men and women, but about all the musicians, Bill Graham, money, and culture, sprinkled with various substances good, bad and otherworldly. I hope all the stories and quotes ARE true because it is a fascinating look at both Bill Graham, the times and all the protagonists. If you're a fan of the Airplane, the Dead, Jimi, the Allaman Brothers, Janis, Big Brother & the Holding Co and Santana, you'll find this a page turner.

A great read. John Glatt has done a fantastic job pulling together the history of two legendary music venues and the people who played there. Packed with new information and great anecdotes. This is the book I'll be buying for all my music loving friends at Christmas.

In some versions of the tales, the flood was triggered by rebellion, while other versions linked the taming of the flood with the creation of the institution of a lineage, and still others linked the taming to the process in which the divided principles of the masculine and the feminine were joined in the married couple to produce an ordered household. While availing themselves of earlier stories and of central religious rituals of the period, these myths transformed earlier divinities or animal spirits into rulers or ministers and provided both etiologies and legitimation for the emerging political and social institutions that culminated in the creation of a unitary empire.

Excellent Scholarly Study of Flood Myths of China

This book is written from a scholarly perspective. It incorporates a massive amount of information from a large variety of sources. Obviously, the author is well-acquainted with the ancient texts and has compiled a wonderful book of information. The author looks at the flood myths of early China from many different angles. He dissects the information and then compares it with a large number of sources. For people who are interested in learning about the flood myths of early China, they will find a jewel in this book. It is well written, well organized, and well end-noted. Excellent scholarly book on the subject.

excellent resource

As both a healthcare professional and an educator, I strongly recommend this text and the the ideas it encourages us to think about as we interact with others. It was written for occupational therapists, but is important reading for any professional (physical therapists, nurses, physicians, social workers, educators etc)that needs to obtain medical or social histories from others. It provides a theoretical background as well as a " technique" to obtain a client's "story", not influenced by our own cultural lens, our own experiences or "place" in life.

Good summary of what is Robbins all about

Tony Robbins is one of the few life coaches and self-help authors that I respect. I am just finishing one of his books and I listened to a podcast where he was a guest and he blew me away.
This book is a compilation of his thoughts and lessons and the author points out the key thing in them and what to do with that information. It is clear that the author knows a lot about Robbins and his writing and I think this is a good book for anyone who is not yet familiar with him. It is always better to get one of his book, of course, but this is a good representation of his thought process.

More than anything, I feel so encouraged after reading this book. Well, who wouldn't be if it is about Tony Robbins? I mean, everyone knows him and loves him and his life's journey. He has been a source of inspiration to more and more people, day by day. Indeed this book has taught me a lot of reasons why he must be emulated. One will think, if Tony has done, why can't I. This is so inspiring that after reading, one will be re-thinking and re-evaluating his life.

As more of professional dentistry becomes viewed as a service and less of a profession, all levels of dentists need to step back and look at what they are doing daily and how it relates to their patients. A well written text with thought provoking examples, it gives one a chance to pause and think and answer questions they may have seen or may see in their practices in the future.
