Wonderful Story

I was pleasantly surprised by this book! It was a lovely story and both myself and my 5 year old daughter fell in love with it. When I purchased the tooth fairy doll, Amazon recomended this book. I knew nothing about it or the author. I highly recomend it, especially for little girls. Only because it seems femanine to me, the story focuses around a little girl who is having a hard time giving up her tooth. They need it to complete the queen's throne. I was able to get some ideas for our tooth fairy family traditions of reading the story the night before the tooth fairy arrives, leaving pixie dust on the pillow and leaving a gold coin in exchange for a tooth. The book came with a gold coin as well as several envelopes stuffed with letters to the tooth fairy, letters from the tooth fairy, posters and a finger game. The book art is wonderful as well.

My 6 year old son LOVES it

This book is so cute. It is a very girly book but my rough-and -tumble 6 year old son LOVES it. What makes the book very unique is the correspondence (envelopes with letters attached to every other page) between the little girl and the tooth fairy. There is a fairy-sized poster, a riddle game, and a coin at the end with a certificate. It helps answer his questions about the tooth fairy: what does she do with the tooth, are there many tooth fairies or just one, etc. For myself, I LOVE the fact that it reinforces good dental habits. A coin for a white tooth in good condition (no cavities!).

My brother is a dentist and I just recommended it for his office waiting room!

Don't let your kids or grandkids lose teeth without this book!

My granddaughter is 6 1/2 yrs old, and just beginning to lose her teeth. This interactive book is written so well, and the illustrations draw both child and adult into the story. The challenge of reading it together is just perfect for my first-grader. She will go to the book every time she's about to lose a tooth. My only criticism is the microscopic size of type used on the inserts -- very difficult to read, in the best of light.

Enlightening!

I searched quite a bit for a bible study for women that would meet the needs of my Catholic faith. I first purchased this book for my own personal use. Each lesson builds on the prior lesson and includes scriptural passages and assigned readings. Each lesson is more thorough than I had thought, but not overwhelming or extraordinarily time consuming. Time is a critical factor for most women, and this seemed to be just right. After joining a Catholic Motherhood Prayer Group, I was approached about putting a Bible Study together...I pulled this book out and submitted it to 23 other women for their review. All of them unanimously voted to go forward with this, and our local priest and spiritual director was impressed with the contents. It was decided that the group would use this book for the Bible Study. It was thorough, complete, accurate, well organized and easily managed.

About the Author
Christopher Was is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Kent State University. He began his career working in a residential treatment facility for adjudicated youth as a teacher and research coordinator for the Odyssey Project, sponsored by the Child Welfare League of America. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Utah in Educational Psychology, with an emphasis in learning, memory and cognition. His research interests are in the areas of models of working memory, complex cognitive processes, and metacognition. More recently his research has focused on implicit learning processes and their relationship to intelligence. Dr. Was uses eye tracking technologies in his research to investigate the connection between implicit cognitive processing and the explicit learning that results from these processes. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers, chapters, and refereed conference proceedings in the areas of learning, educational psychology, and cognitive psychology.

Frank J. Sansosti, Ph.D., NCSP is an Associate Professor in the School Psychology at Kent State University. He has extensive experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in both school and clinic settings. As a practitioner he provided coaching and technical assistance for early intervention and best practice approaches for students with low-incidence disabilities in inclusive settings, and coordinated efforts between parents, teachers, administrators, and district level personnel. Currently, Dr. Sansostis primary research and professional interests focus on the development and implementation of behavioral and social skills interventions for individuals with developmental delays, as well as the use of eye-tracking technologies as a tool for investigating the academic and social difficulties of students with disabilities. Dr. Sansosti is an active researcher, as evidence by over 40 publications and more than 75 professional workshops at local, regional, national, and international venues.

Morris is a Developmental Cognitive Scientist whose research program includes basic research in cognitive development and its application in designing and assessing effective STEM instruction in formal and informal settings. His research focuses on the development of Scientific and Mathematical reasoning and Motivation. The goal of his research program is to identify mechanisms underlying childrens reasoning (e.g., strategy acquisition) and motivation (e.g., praise type) using a variety of experimental methods (e.g., eye tracking), technological implementations (e.g., apps that measure informal STEM engagement), and computational models.
